The Great Highway will be repaved from Point Lobos to Sloat Boulevard (map). This is a six month project scheduled to finish up in July. Streetscape improvements also will be made to the stretch of road along the Golden Gate Park at Ocean Beach between Fulton and Lincoln. The improvements include new curb ramps, pedestrian crossing and bicycle safety upgrades, and the installation of a landscaped roadway median. Watermain installation work is also being performed as a part of the project.
Work includes roadway resurfacing, roadway base repair, concrete sidewalk and curb repairs, adjustment of utility castings to the new roadway surface, ADA curb ramp construction at pedestrian crossing points, and sewer and drainage work.
DPW is managing the construction of the street and streetscape improvements.
