Ocean Park Health Center Renovation

Project Information:
The 16,247 square foot Ocean Park Health Center is one of 12 public health clinics operated by the Department of Public Health.  The 1970’s building is a two story concrete/steel frame structure situated on a relatively flat site in the Sunset District neighborhood of San Francisco.

The completed project consisted of planning, design, and phased construction for accessibility and programmatic improvements to the aging facility.  The accessibility (barrier removal) work included improvements to the main entrance ramp, reception counter, men’s and women’s restrooms on two floors, renovation of an exam room and two consultation offices, and the installation of a new elevator to serve both floors.  Other improvements included the remodeling of the mental health offices on the second floor, exterior painting and exterior landscaping. Construction phasing allowed the facility to remain operational and open to the public during construction.
