San Francisco General Hospital Surgical Suite, a Level One Trauma Center

Chinatown Health Center RenovationProject Information:
DPW completed this complicated construction project in the Surgical Suite of General Hospital, a Level One Trauma Center, under a tight schedule and completed the project in 18 weeks. The project included the construction and renovation of two operating rooms with new surgical lights and  medical gas column supports. During construction, one operating room had to remain open in order to accomodate the needs of the hospital. Construction access was achieved by building new doors into an adjoining corridor, requiring staff to wear surgical scrubs and attire for initial entry and final exit. The permtting process for this project included approvals from the State of California which added to the complex nature of the project.
