April 28th - Starbucks Global Day of Service

StarbucksStarbucks Coffee Company will hold its second annual Global Day of Service on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Starbucks is collaborating with DPW to support projects in eleven neighborhoods across the city that will include restoration and beautification of some of San Francisco's most iconic areas and community gathering spaces.

The San Francisco service event is one of many projects taking place throughout the month of April as part of the City's Month of Service. As with last year, thousands of Starbucks employees, customers and community participants around the world are coming together to participate in service projects that address their local community needs. Organizers anticipate attracting over 1,500 volunteers to support this year's event. Last year's service event at Ocean Beach attracted over 1,200 supporters and was noted as the "largest one-day volunteer" event ever in DPW's history.

A kick-off event is scheduled at San Francisco City Hall beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a short program to welcome volunteers and commence the day's activities and the public is invited to attend.  Learn more.
